The Regional Risk & Safety Manager is responsible for developing and managing safety & risk program initiatives for the company to main a safe, healthy workplace for all employees. This will include the development of a safety strategy and ownership of the departmental budget and be able to develop a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage field risk, safety, and compliance efforts for Western terminal locations.
  • Conduct safety and risk training for drivers, contractors, and management personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all D.O.T and FMCSA regulations.
  • Conduct safety meetings at terminal locations.
  • Conduct collision and injury investigations.
  • Review and assign corrective action needed from Samara camera events.
  • Manage driver safety stand downs with terminals, regional managers, and operations directors.
  • Manage emergency situations- including weekend and after hours.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree Business preferred or applicable field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a milt-location 24/7 transportation company, Auto Haul preferred.
  • Certifications in OSHA and DOT operations helpful. NATMI Safety Director Certification a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of D.O.T & FMCSA regulations, HOS, and CSA.
  • Ability to manage others and interface with our professional drivers and contractors.
  • Microsoft office proficiency, public speaking experience, root cause analysis experience.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to self- manage.
  • Ability to travel to travel as needed up to 60%.
