The Director of Safety & Compliance will direct and coordinate activities of the organization’s safety operations. They will administer compliance of operations personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental and OSHA regulations.
Responsibilities:
- To manage and provide continual measurable improvement in our Safety program.
- Oversight of collision prevention effort for the company.
- Responsibility of collision investigation for opportunities for collision frequency & severity reduction.
- Management of field and corporate safety personnel.
- HOS and UVA oversight responsibility.
- Oversight of Samsara coaching events.
- Managements of CSA score reporting- Heat mapping or Safety.
- Risk meeting with Regional Managers- LRA reviews.

Qualifications:
- 4 year degree.
- 5-10 years’ experience in transportation, risk, safety, and compliance management, collision management, driver corrective action training, training for field safety personnel.
- Solid familiarity with state and federal labor, OSHA, EEOC, and substance abuse legislation. Certifications in OSHA and DOT operations are helpful. NATMI Safety Director Certification a plus.
- High Analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office required. Experience with Magnus, Idelic, Samsara preferred.
- Travel- 40%.
