The Driver Assistant Supervisor role will support the process to satisfy customer demands by providing the efficient loading of vehicles for transport to dealers and destinations to achieve maximum productivity. The area of responsibility is to ensure drivers achieve safe and damage free deliveries while in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to the trucking operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support drivers in loading and exiting the yard efficiently. Shuttle Drivers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance of manufacture vehicle handling and securement policies through completion of Random load audits.
  • Perform Pre-load inspections and record any defects or damages.
  • Work with dealers, Railroad and facility management along with other third parties to reduce cost in claims.
  • Recognize trends to relay to all terminal staff and create innovative ideas to improve any aspect of operational performance.
  • Assist in load changes and process management for driver devices and document storage.
  • Prepare Preliminary Safety/ Quality reports relating to Collision, Injury, and Damages.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 2 years yard supervisory or Auto Hauling experience
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and additional industry software preferred
  • Candidate must have strong communications and inter-personal skills
  • Be available for work on weekends or holidays, as advised
  • Ability to drive courteously and professionally
