The position will have responsibility to work with the Quality and Safety Personnel to identify root causes to damages and implementing programs to improve overall customer service by reducing the amount of cost incurred during our handling and delivery. The position will be responsible for the Eastern Region of the US. Providing guidance and training to terminals that are recognized to need improvement in their quality control. Additional duties include building a rapport with retailers and providing feedback on the training and results for the terminals. Subject matter expert on vehicle inspections and handling, yard and dealership procedures, and equipment operations. Communicate with customers and logistics partners on matters pertaining to Quality as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit terminal activity to ensure compliance with Quality and Safety KPIs, along with FMCSA & DOT compliance. Identify root causes of Quality/ Safety exceptions and develop countermeasures for proper application of relevant rules and standards. Develop countermeasures to address any non-compliance with KPIs and standards. Submit performance reports for review by management.
  • Conduct training and offer guidance to support continuing improvement in quality performance as measured by CPU and IPTV as well as an other appropriate standards. Follow up with terminals to test success of any countermeasures or actions taken by the terminal to improve performance. Standardize best practices across the entire network.
  • Collaborate with staff in the Risk department to develop and distribute the proper metrics to the field that will identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Monitor and assist in the cargo damage claims process for completion as well as accuracy.
  • Communicate with retailers and drivers to build rapport.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical strength to communicate and resolve difficult issues, both internally and externally.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role in car hauler operations.
  • In depth knowledge of Finished Vehicle Logistics, specifically car hauler equipment, loading and operations at assembly plants, port facilities, rail yards, and dealers.
  • Knowledgeable in OEM Vehicle Handling Manuals and Transportation Claims procedures.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis (~25%) via Air, Automobile, or alternative means.
